Grain stocks are so low that two of Canada's biggest ethanol plants are starving for wheat. Investors are also so spooked by the rising cost of grain that two proposed plants in Saskatchewan have been shelved.

The Queensland Farmers Federation is calling on the Federal Government to give special consideration to the sugar industry before scrapping a biofuels subsidy program. They claim it has a better GHG profile.
